Caroline was sick the past couple of days. On Sunday night, she came down with a fever and by mid-day Monday her fever was 105. Monday we went to the doctor and they swabbed her throat for strep, checked her ears, collected a urine sample and the whole works. Everything checked out okay, except for the high fever and the doctor guessed that it was viral. Sure enough, by Tuesday afternoon there was no trace of the fever. Things are getting back to normal today, which is good considering that Todd will be gone for a few days.

Good News!

Here's an update on my mom's breast cancer:

She went to see the oncologist yesterday to discusss the treatment and the stage of the cancer. She learned that although the cancer was in the lymph system, it had not spread to any other organs. This is really good news. The cancer is stage 3 and still very serious. It is a fast growing, agressive type and she will need quick and thorough treatment to recover.

Been busy...

I have been busy these days. Caroline is 18 months old and a total handful. She's saying more words and learning new physical skills. Yesterday, I saw her "walking" on all fours. It was a hoot! She will try to wear our shoes and put shoes on our feet too. She knows that when we go "bye-bye" she needs to put her shoes on. She will often go find them and bring them to us.

In other news, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks ago. She had surgery to remove her breasts and test lymph nodes. The doctors are still running some tests and we should know what stage the cancer is in on Thursday. She is hoping to start treatment(radiation and chemo) next week. She has been a real trooper through this whole ordeal and we are very proud of her.
